Into Your World: new video with gestures, BROCKTON style!

Updated: Jun 5, 2018

A composer isn't really a composer if their music is not performed. That's just me being honest! Hey, listen - you can tote around your sketches and scores and scan them conspicuously in coffeehouses, but there's essentially no music until those notes come off of the page and become sounds, man.

If we're lucky, we know several musicians and/or groups thereof who are interested in our stuff. However, if you're really lucky - like I am - you have been imparted truly special relationships with ensembles such as the Brockton High School Concert Choir under the direction of Matthew Cunningham.

Matt, one of the finest musicians and you'll ever meet, never misses a detail. He's probably pickier than me....about my own music! And his singers? They simply love to sing. What's more, they value every minute of every rehearsal, every performance. This very talented and incredibly hard-working group have performed and premiered numerous Kregler compositions and the number keeps growing. That makes me a very happy composer.

So, it gives me great pleasure to share this new video of Into Your World. This version exhibits the visual component of the piece: physical gestures performed by the singers that were inspired by my those of my son, Joe. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Thanks for listening! And please share and subscribe!

Warmly,

Mike
